Interzone Games Studio Sites

As part of my work at the now-closed Interzone Games studio in Perth, I was required to develop a series of sites for each of the three Interzone studios across the world: Australia (Perth), China and Brazil. The idea was that each studio would have their own site, all centrally linked together by the corporate main page (focused on the company’s Chicago operations in the USA).

Each design was developed as a WordPress theme, allowing quick portablity and convenience in setting up the new sites. The China team decided that they wished to have the Great Wall of China feature prominently in their design and I incorporated it into the banner, choosing red as their main colour.

Unfortunately the design for the Brazil studio was never completed as the business plans of the company changed and it was no longer required. Later, the Brazil studio would be the first to be shut down, leaving dozens of people without jobs and some forced to sell their homes.

It saddens me to report that our premiere title Interzone Futebol will never be released, as the company’s American-based managers (Marty Brickey, Greg Chadwell and Mike Turner) decided to shut Interzone down in early 2010, despite owing millions of dollars in unpaid wages and taxes to former employees (myself included) and to various government bodies such as the Australian Taxation Office. The intellectual property for the game was forcibly removed from the Perth studio by these men and taken to the United States, where development now continues on the game and it is set to be published as “Online Soccer Champions”. See interzowned.com for more information on how myself and over a hundred other ex-Interzone employees across the world are fighting for the lost wages and recognition we deserve.
